Hometown Hero: Steve Willis
Crafting routes is a cherished passion for Steve Willis. Whether mapping training loops or exploring cycling culture in new cities, each endeavor fuels his enthusiasm as he pieces together endless paths.
Steve crafted a 4-day, 600-kilometer loop using the Hammerhead Dashboard blending coastlines and gravel trails of New Zealand. Hailed as “the birthplace of New Zealand,” Northland stretches over 3,200 kilometers. Its western edge faces the rugged Tasman Sea, while the eastern parcels offer the grand Pacific Ocean.
The journey embraced the essence of cycling - new roads, unveiled splendor, and the transformation of ideas into adventures.
